Taking the Reins @ Merchants Cafe

Published by onlyplatinum at 8:29 pm under Uncategorized, music, news Edit This

The Boys of Revel ReinsAs the crowd came in and out of the bar while Peter Karis opened our second Friday the 13th NBP show this year, it looked to be a toss up as to whether or not NBP would continue events at Merchants Cafe.

Trying to compete with other not so lucky promoters in this town is getting slick, and my only hope was to bet on the right bands.

Luckly, Revel Reins and their amazing Reggae/Rock set and awesome sublime covers was just what the doctor ordered!

They downed their last few beers, found a moment to ‘adjust’ their attitudes and got onto stage. Spitting and cursing at their current bar room crowd, who were happy to hear the extrodinary solos and reggae beats they played so well.

As their fans came late to their show (whats up with that?) they also managed to get others to swing in from the long line outside club trinity. It turns out that there are not many who like to pay 15 bucks for parking just so they can stand in a line for an hour for another 10 bucks.

When they heard the smooth sound  coming from Merchants stage, they made their way over to our doorstep and came inside. Finding that the drinks were a great price, and the door was not to bad either ($3), they complimented me on what a great find Revel Reins was and asked me as much as I knew about the Boys of Revel Reins.

If your interested in learning more about them.

They can be found on my top friends list at www.myspace.com/nothinbutplatinum

or to make it easier

check out their page at www.myspace.com/revelreins

They have been making their presense known around Seattle, and if I were you, I wouldn’t be left in the dust by not checking them out!
